CONCORD, N.H.—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women's soccer team defeated the Lynx of NHTI 3-1 in Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) action on Wednesday, Sept. 28.

Winger Chanelle McDonough (Gorham, Maine) netted her fifth and sixth goals of her rookie campaign, the first inside two minutes on a ball that she fit just below the cross bar and the second by way of a penalty kick at the 68-minute mark. Sophomore forward Paige St. Pierre (Waterville, Maine) scored the middle goal on a set piece attempt by junior captain Desiree Veilleux (Winslow, Maine).

NHTI's Megan Lancaster offered the lone score for the home team near the end of regulation.

First-year goalkeepers Grayson Soldati (Portland, Maine) and Mia Pasciuto (Littleton, Mass.) combined for 10 saves.

For the Seawolves, it was their first win over NHTI since the 2015 season. The result pushes SMCC to 2-0-4, 2-0-1 YSCC.

The Seawolves continue their conference slate in a meeting with top-ranked Paul Smith's College in New York on Saturday, Oct. 1.
