SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine-- The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss to the Lynx from NHTI in a non-conference match on Tuesday, Oct. 3.
The first goal of the game came at the 6:11 mark of the first half when NHTI's Eva LaValley scored an unassisted goal, giving her team a 1-0 lead. Lynx forward Adrienne Dorr added another goal at the 44:53 mark, extending their lead to 2-0.
Throughout the game, NHTI's defense, led by goalkeeper Hailey Knight, ensured a clean sheet-- Knight making 13 saves.
SMCC continued its struggle to find the back of the net, taking 20 shots, landing 13 on target. Both teams displayed a compettive spirit. Although unable to score, SMCC showed resilience and determination throughout.
The Seawolves dip to 4-5-1 overall.
Next, the Seawolves will host the Knights from Vermont State University- Randolph on Sunday, Oct. 8. Kickoff at Wainwright Sports Complex is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
