Mercier Named USCAA Player of the Week
SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine — Southern Maine Community College men’s basketball freshman Chance Mercier has been named USCAA Division II Player of the Week, following a string of dominant performances on both ends of the floor.
Mercier averaged 20.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.0 steals per game over two starts last week, helping lead the Seawolves to a pair of hard-fought contests. The Ellsworth, Maine native was highly efficient from the line, going a perfect 11-for-11 on free throws, while also knocking down six three-pointers and totaling 41 points across the two games. He also contributed on the glass and defensively, tallying 11 rebounds, 4 steals, and 5 assists over the two-game span.
The award marks the first USCAA weekly honor of Mercier’s collegiate career and first USCAA award of the team in the 2025-26 season.
