Athletics is an important and exciting part of student life at Southern Maine Community College. The athletics program is an outstanding recruiting tool for the college and engages student-athletes on a deeper level to boost the highest retention rates of any student population at SMCC. The Seawolves have a long tradition of success and strive to be one of the premier small college athletic programs in New England. The athletics staff is committed to providing the finest community college athletic experience through quality instruction, exceptional facilities, and competitive schedules.
Sport Offerings
SMCC sponsors nine intercollegiate sport offerings; five for women, four for men. The fall sports lineup includes men’s and women’s soccer, men's and women's golf, and women's volleyball. During the winter, SMCC offers men’s and women’s basketball. In the spring, student-athletes can choose to participate in baseball or softball.
Conference Affiliation
The SeaWolves compete in the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC), the New England regional league of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA). In addition to SMCC, YSCC membership includes:
