Abdul and Morgan Named SeaWolves of the Week

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine— First-year Kaylah Abdul (South Berwick, Maine) and junior John Morgan (Sanford, Maine) were named SeaWolves of the Week on Tuesday, Feb. 14.

Abdul, of the women’s basketball team, averaged 16 points per game over a two-game slate last week in which her team suffered a loss to Central Maine Community College (CMCC), but won on the road at Vermont Technical College (VTC). Abdul’s most impressive performance was at VTC when she tallied 17 points, eight rebounds, and six steals. Abdul shot an efficient 50 percent from the floor on Saturday, Feb. 11.

Morgan, captain of the men’s basketball team, averaged 17 points over the same span. In his biggest game of the week, Morgan recorded a double-double, dropping 24 points on 10-22 shooting, and pulling down 13 rebounds, seven offensive. In 35 minutes of action, Morgan heard “MVP” chants leading his team over Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC)-rival CMCC 76-67 on Wednesday, Feb. 8.
