A two-year member of the softball program (2017-19), Meranda Martin was both an elite hitter and pitcher for the Seawolves. Martin received YSCC All-Conference and USCAA All-American accolades in both seasons she played, and earned USCAA Academic All-American status in 2019. She led all USCAA players in stolen bases in 2018 (44) and was voted both YSCC Player of the Year and Pitcher of the Year as a team captain in 2019. In addition, Martin was named to the YSCC Twin Decades Team. The Hall of Fame outfielder, accumulated 95 hits (4th all-time), 95 runs (2nd all-time), and 77 stolen bases (1st all-time). Martin amassed a .503 batting average and .577 on-base percentage spanning 189 at-bats. As a pitcher, Martin racked up seven wins in 11 games started; she collected 67 strikeouts totaling 73.1 innings pitched and a 4.10 earned run average. Following her time at SMCC, the Maine native continued her playing career at Saint Joseph’s College of Maine.
