South Portland, ME- Domingo Cruz’ two run homerun in the first inning propelled the knights of Northern Essex to a 6-3 win over the host Seawolves.

SMCC (6-12 Overall, 2-5 YSCC) picked up runs in the third and fifth innings to crawl back, getting hits from Scott Madden (3 for 5) and Tyler Kelly (2 for 3). The Knights picked up runs in the sixth and seventh innings to pull away with the 6-3 win.

Mike Chartier picked up the win for the Knights going six innings giving up only two runs. Taking the loss for the Seawolves was Mustafa Jamal going six innings giving up five runs. SMCC takes the field for double headers this weekend against Navy Prep and Dean College.
