Southern Maine Community College hosted the 2011 Fall NECA Baseball Championship Tournament today at Old Orchard Beach Ballpark.  The Seawolves entered the tournament as the top-seeded team followed by UNH, NHTI and Vermont Technical College.

UNH eliminated NHTI in the first semi-final game 5-2 setting them up to face the winner of the SMCC-Vermont Technical College game for the championship.

The Seawolves fought back from a 3-0 deficit to beat Vermont Technical College 10-6.  Freshman Mike Vadnais (Biddeford, ME) had a day for the Seawolves going 4-4 with 3 RBIs. Freshman Josh Leitson (Oak Park, IL) got the win throwing 4 strong innings with 1 earned run.

UNH won the championship game 1-0, despite a strong seven-inning, no earned run pitching performance by Vadnais.
