Baseball Wins First Road Game at Central Maine CC 5-2

The SMCC baseball team traveled to Central Maine CC following a 3-0 opening run on their home field. Freshman third baseman Matt Turnage (Waterboro, ME) wasted no time getting things started for SMCC.  In his first at bat, Turnage dropped a two-run homerun and the Seawolves never looked back.

Defensively, SMCC looked good turning several double plays. Sophomore pitcher Chad Egeland (Westbrook, ME) got the win for SMCC throwing 5 1/3 innings before handing the mound over to freshman Josh Leitson (Oak Park, IL). Facing one out and bases loaded, Leitson got out of the jam for his second save of the season.

The Seawolves continue on the road this Saturday with a doubleheader against NHTI. First game is scheduled to start at 11:00AM.
