Seawolves Drop Second Straight Game

North Bridgton, ME. After getting beat in 5 innings last night by Northern Essex Community College (NECC), the Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) baseball team traveled to North Bridgton, ME this afternoon to face the Bridgton Academy (BA) Wolverines. The Seawolves had a 4-2 lead going into the bottom of the 7th inning but the Wolverines scored 3 to beat the Seawolves 5-4 in walk off fashion. 

The Seawolves were led by freshman short stop Ethan Bilderback (Annapolis, MD) who went 2 for 2 at the plate while scoring 2 of the 4 SMCC runs and drawing a walk. Sophomore center fielder Michael Calabrese (Dover, NH), freshman DH Nate McKeown (Biddeford, ME) and junior second baseman Jeremy Gearty (Lebanon, ME) all contributed a pair of hits. Calabrese scored the other 2 SMCC runs. Freshman pitcher Corey Mongiat (Waterboro, ME) picked up the 7th inning loss.

With the loss tonight against the Wolverines, it drops SMCC to 15-15-1 overall while they remain at 7-1 in the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC). The Seawolves will host a double header this Saturday, April 13th as Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) junior varsity team come to town. Games will be held at 1:00pm and 3:00pm.
