Concord, NH. The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) baseball team traveled to Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) rival New Hampshire Technical Institute (NHTI) for 2 very important games. In game 2, NHTI scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning but the Seawolves held them off for a 7-6 victory.

The Seawolves offense jelled in game 1 as they had 22 total hits. To lead the way was freshman short stop Ethan Bilderback (Annapolis, MD) who went 4 for 4 at the plate that included 2 doubles. Bilderback also scored twice, had an RBI and stole a base. Freshman catcher Jon Daniszewski (Laconia, NH) went 4 for 5 while also scoring 2 runs. SMCC had 4 other players that contributed 3 hits each and they scored a combined 14 runs. Freshman pitcher Jason Weatherbee (Wiscasset, ME) was on the mound and earned the win.

In game 2, there were 8 different players with hits. To lead SMCC was freshman first baseman Nate McKeown (Biddeford, ME) and freshman second baseman Brendan Reil (Berwick, ME) who each went 2 for 4 at the plate and had an RBI. Pitcher Adam Healy (Grey, ME) picked up the win with pitcher Eli Capen (Jay, ME) coming in to earn the save.

With both wins today, SMCC improves their overall record to 19-19-1 and their Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) record to 9-1. The Seawolves will play their 3rd double header in 3 days tomorrow Sunday, April 21st as they host Dean College. Game times are scheduled for 1:00PM and 3:00PM.
