Seawolves Fall to Wildcats 6-2

Seawolves Fall to Wildcats 6-2

South Portland SMCC pitcher Nate Boyle (Windham, ME) started off hot striking out three of the first four batters he faced. But in the third inning UNH's designated hitter, McDowell, cranked a bases clearing double that brought in three runs and put the Wildcats up 4-0, a lead that the Seawolves would never overcome.

Seawolf leftfielder Brendan Horton (South Portland, ME) crushed a two run homer in the fifth inning to cut the Wildcat lead in half making the score 4-2. But UNH held the Seawolves scoreless for the remainder of the contest while first baseman Cleary and right fielder Grant tacked on two more runs in the sixth to give the Wildcats a 6-2 advantage.

With this loss the Seawolves drop to 3-2 overall and 2-0 in YSCC play. SMCC will be back in action tomorrow September, 15th at 2pm versus Eastern Maine CC.
