Seawolves Roll Over Golden Eagles

Seawolves Roll Over Golden Eagles

South Portland Seawolf pitcher Corey Mongiat (Waterboro, ME) rang in his nineteenth birthday today pitching five innings, striking out three batters and only giving up four hits and one unearned run. Mongiat's performance helped the Seawolves earn a 9-2 win over the Golden Eagles of Eastern Maine Community College.

The Seawolf offense was sparked in the second inning by a single from designated hitter Pat Emanuelson (Hudson, NH) followed immediately by a double from first baseman Rob Hamilton (Windham, ME) that drove Emanuelson in for the score. Two batters later catcher Alex Small (Lewiston, ME) singled to drive in Hamilton and put the Seawolves on top 2-0. Hamilton ended the day by going an impressive four for four with three RBI's and a double while Emanuelson went three for four, with two singles and a double.

Other noteworthy performances for the Seawolves included pitcher Dylan Morrow (Hays, TX) who pitched two innings giving up no hits or runs and striking out three of the six batters he faced and centerfielder Alex Brown (Weymouth, MA) who went three for four on the day with one RBI and two runs. Leading the way for the Golden Eagles was left fielder Brandon Spratt (Dexter, ME) who singled twice in three at bats.

With this win the Seawolves improve to 4-2 overall and 3-0 in conference play while the Golden Eagles drop to 6-1. The Seawolves will be back in action on September 18th at Eastern Maine Community College at 3pm.
