South Portland – SMCC's combination of on point pitching and heavy hitting proved too much for the Mass Bay Community College Buccaneers in today's baseball action as the Seawolves pulled away with a 13-1 win.
Starting pitcher Dan French (Monkton, VT) pitched five innings, rattled off seven strikeouts, only gave up one hit and allowed zero runs. The Seawolves scored all 13 of their runs in the first two innings of play. They were led by shortstop Ethan Bilderback (Annapolis, MD) who went three for three with a double, two stolen bases and two runs and second baseman Andrew Rascoe (Fryeburg, ME) who went two for two with a double, a stolen base and two runs.
With this win the Seawolves improve to 6-2 overall and 4-1 in conference play. The Seawolves will return to action Wednesday September 25th at Bridgton Academy at 4pm.
