Seawolves Split with Lynx

Concord, NH - The Seawolves brought their busy travel weekend to a close today as they traveled to NHTI for a doubleheader picking up a 6-3 win in game one but falling short and losing 6-2 in their fifth game in three days.

In game one Seawolf pitcher Corey Mongiat (Waterboro, ME) pitch five and one-third innings giving up three earned runs and striking out four to earn the win. Relief pitcher Dylan Morrow (Hays, TX) threw one and two-thirds innings giving up no hits and picking up his third save in two days. The offensive leaders for the Seawolves were leftfielder Brendan Horton (South Portland, ME) who went three for four at the plate with a homerun and two RBI's and Adam Volkernick (Rumford, ME) who successfully executed a suicide squeeze bringing in two runners and helping SMCC come up with the 6-3 victory.

In game two NHTI's pitching trio John Funk (Farmington, NH), Justin Judd (Lebanon, NH), and Steven Levasseur (Laconia, NH) gave up only two hits in seven innings and zero runs. The Seawolves two hits came from second baseman Andrew Rascoe (Fryeburg, ME) who went for a double and centerfielder Alex Brown (Weymouth, MA) who singled. NHTI overcame SMCC 6-2 in game two.

After these two contests the Seawolves overall record moves to 8-4 overall and 5-3 in conference play. The Seawolves will return to action on Saturday October 5th at home in Round Robin play.
