Seawolves Lose Two at Briarcliffe

Patchogue, NY - The Seawolves' baseball team traveled to Briarcliffe College this afternoon where they dropped two games to the Bulldogs, unable to snap out of their thus far sluggish start to the spring season.

In the opening game of the double header the Seawolves scored first but despite their offensive efforts they struggled on defense, committing five errors as a team en route to a 7-3 loss. During the contest infielder Owen Kimmel (New York, NY) went two for four and Andrew Rascoe (Fryeburg, ME) went 1-3 with a two RBI double that got the scoring started for SMCC. Relief pitcher Corey Mongiat (Waterboro, ME) pitched two scoreless innings for the Seawolves.

In game two the Seawolves were once again plagued with errors giving up eight unearned run to the Bulldogs and losing the game by a score of 12-5. Third baseman Zachary Horton (South Portland, ME) had quite a day at the plate going 3-3 with a double, an RBI and a run. Pitcher Dylan Morrow also had a noteworthy performance going 2-3 with a double and an RBI.

These two losses drop the Seawolves to 0-7 for the spring. They will be back at it on Saturday the 29th at home against CCRI at 12 and 2pm.
