Seawolves Split with Navy Prep

South Portland - In this afternoon's baseball double header action the Seawolves split with Navy Prep, falling in the first game 12-3 and rallying in the second game to mercy rule the Rams by a score of 11-1.

In game one Navy Prep pitcher Sean Kamhoot held the Seawolves hitless until the final inning of the game when Seawolves centerfielder Alex Brown (Weymouth, MA) crushed a triple. With Brown on third, shortstop Ethan Bilderback (Annapolis, MD) drilled a double to bring Brown home before scoring himself on error to give the Seawolves three runs. Falling to the Rams 12-3.

The Seawolves found their offense immediately in game two when leadoff batter Jon Daniszewski (Laconia, NH) hit a triple, followed by an RBI single from Brown to knot the game at 1-1 at the bottom of the first. The Seawolves tacked on one run in each of the second and third innings before really coming alive in the fifth. The Seawolves accumulated three stolen bases, three walks and two singles en route to scoring six runs in the inning and pulling away from the Rams 9-1. The Seawolves put up two more runs in the sixth to pull off the mercy rule victory, 11-1. Seawolves' pitcher Dylan Morrow (Hays, TX) pitched six innings giving up one run and striking out 11 batters.

The Seawolves will return to the field tomorrow for a single game against Navy Prep at 12pm. After today the Seawolves are 11-17 overall and 5-4 in Yankee Small College Conference play.
