Seawolves Dominate Golden Eagles

Seawolves Dominate Golden Eagles

South Portland - This afternoon the Seawolves faced off against YSCC member Eastern Maine Community College in a single contest in which Seawolves' pitcher Nate Boyle (Windham, ME) gave up only one hit en route to a 10-0 Seawolves victory.

Seawolves' catcher Owen Kimmel (New York, NY) jumpstarted the SMCC offense with a double in the first inning then first baseman Zach Horton (South Portland, ME) singled to bring Kimmel across the plate and put the Seawolves on the scoreboard. In inning two with two outs the Seawolves went on a scoring frenzy bringing in eight runs thanks in part to an RBI double by designated hitter Jon Daniszewski (Laconia, NH) and a deep shot to the outfield from centerfielder Alex Brown (Weymouth, MA) that advanced three runners to score. The Seawolves proceeded to tack on another run in the third to come away with the 10-0 victory. Pitcher Nate Boyle threw five innings, giving up one hit, zero runs and striking out eleven out of eighteen batters faced.

With this win the Seawolves advance to 12-17 overall and 5-4 in conference play. They will be back on the field tomorrow at home against NHTI in a double header beginning at 12pm.
