Today’s matchup between the visiting Wolverines of Bridgton Academy

South Portland- Today's matchup between the visiting Wolverines of Bridgton Academy and the Seawolves from Southern Maine Community College was game two of the 302 Cup Challenge.  This best of three series between the two instate rivals ended with a 6-2 win by the Wolverines securing the 302 Cup to remaining with Bridgton for another year.

Early on it looked as if the Seawolves were ready to make sure the series was going to play all three games.  In the first inning, SMCC picked up two quick runs when sophomore Zach Horton (South Portland, ME) drove in sophomore Jon Daniszewski with an up the middle single.  Later in the inning Horton would score off a single from sophomore Ethan Bilderback (Annapolis, Maryland) to make the score 2-0.

Seawolves pitcher senior  Dan French ( Monkton VT)would then keep the Wolverines scoreless until the top of the third inning when Bridgton would tie the score at 2-2.  That is all Bridgton pitcher Jacob Smith would need as he pitched a complete game, six strikeout performances to seal the win.

With the victory, the Wolverines complete their season at 25-9 and hold onto the 302 Cup for another year.  The Seawolves finish the season at 18-19.
