Seawolves Down Golden Eagles

South Portland - In tonight's baseball action the Seawolves hosted the Golden Eagles of Eastern Maine Community College. Both teams got off to a slow start, going three scoreless innings before the Golden Eagles put up one run in the top of the fourth to go ahead 1-0. The Seawolves answered in the bottom of the fourth with five runs and tacked on one more in the fifth to pull out the 6-1 victory.

Two RBI doubles in the fourth by rightfielder Caleb Burpee (Kennebunk, ME) and catcher Dylan Farrell-Reny (South Portland, ME) combined with wild pitches and errors by the Eagles led to five of the Seawolves six runs.  Shortstop Phillip Langley (Shawnee, OK) tacked on a sixth run in the fifth inning to give the Seawolves the 6-1 advantage. Langley led the Seawolves' offense going 2-2 at the plate, with two doubles and two runs scored. 

The Seawolves threw four pitchers' on the afternoon, Nate Boyle (Windham, ME), Michael Mageles (Bridgton, ME), Timothy Andersen (Beverly, MA) and Shawn Murphy (Mechanic Falls, ME) who combined for 11 strikeouts and three hits with no earned runs. 

With this win the Seawolves advance to 2-0 overall and will look to extend their win streak on Friday September 12th at UNH at 5pm.
