Seawolves Pick Up Pair of Wins at NHTI

Concord, NH - Today the Seawolves traveled to New Hampshire for double header action where they picked up a pair of big wins against YSCC foe NHTI. The Seawolves picked up a shutout in game one, 3-0, and held on to get the second win 4-3 in game two.

In game one pitcher Nate Boyle (Windham, ME) threw a complete game shutting out the Lynx and giving up only one hit while striking out nine and walking just one batter. All the SMCC offense came in the third inning off an RBI double by left fielder Jon Daniszewski (Laconia, NH) and a two RBI double by centerfielder Alex Brown (Weymouth, MA) giving the Seawolves the eventual 3-0 victory.

Things started out a little shaky for the Seawolves in game two, trailing 3-0 after six innings of play. In the seventh the Seawolves offense was sparked by back to back hits from third baseman Shawn Murphy (Mechanic Falls, ME) and Sean Adams (Lebanon, ME) to put themselves in scoring position. RBI singles from Caleb Dostie (Lewiston, ME) and Daniszewski brought in three runs to tir the game up at three runs a piece. A sacrifice fly by Seawolves' Caleb Burpee (Kennebunk, ME) brought home the winning run, putting SMCC on top 4-3. Ian Boyle (Portland, ME) pitched a complete game, picking up his first collegiate win.

With these two wins the Seawolves are now 4-1 overall and will continue their string of road trips tomorrow when they travel to the Naval Prepatory Academy for a double header at 1 and 3pm.
