EMCC Earns First Win Against Seawolves

Bangor - In yesterday's baseball action the Golden Eagles of Eastern Maine CC earned the first win of the fall season, defeating the Seawolves 6-5 in nine innings of play. 

The Seawolves pitching crew combined to give up only three hits in the game but they allowed nine walks which would be costly in the end when coupled with five errors by the defense.  In a game where both teams struggled defensively the Seawolves' were able to get themselves on base but ended up leaving 13 runners stranded. EMCC committed three errors in the first two innings which allowed the Seawolves to quickly jump out to a 3-0 lead. The Seawolves proceeded to put up two more runs and hold a 4-1 lead until the sixth when EMCC scored four runs to knot the game at five runs apiece. In extra innings the Eagles scored one run in the ninth to come away with the 6-5 victory.

Catcher Tucker Lee (Lexington, IL) led the Seawolves' offense by going 2-4 with a triple and an RBI, leftfielder Jon Daniszewski (Laconia, NH) went 2-4, scoring two runs and shortstop Phillip Langley (Shawnee, OK) also went 2-4 with an RBI. Pitcher Shawn Murphy (Mechanic Falls, ME) picked up the loss in the ninth.

The Seawolves are now 6-2 overall and 2-1 in conference play. They will play double headers on both Saturday, at 1pm and 3pm, and Sunday, at 11am and 1pm, this weekend against St. Joseph's College of Vermont.
