Seawolves and Saints Settle for Baseball split

South Portland – Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) Baseball hosted the visiting Fighting Saints from College of St. Joe's (VT) in a twin bill action this afternoon at the Graves Athletic Fields.

In the Game one of the double-header the Seawolves got an impressive performance on the mound from sophomore Nate Boyle (Windham, ME) who pitched a complete game with six strikeouts to post a 4-1 win. 

Offensively, Phillip Langley (Shawnee, OK) continued his strong fall performance at the putting together two doubles scoring twice and collect an RBI.  Senior Alex Brown (Weymouth, MA) contributed two hits and two RBI in the game.  Freshmen Sean Murphy (Mechanic Falls, ME) and Dylan Farrell-Reny (South Portland, ME) also chipped in with two hits apiece in the game.

In Game two Saints pitcher Alan Madsen pitched a complete game with 12 strikeouts and the Saints picked up the 3-1 win.  Seawolves pitcher Dylan Morrow (Hays TX) had a strong outing as well but the Seawolves bats were quiet on the day only picking up three hits off Madsen.

With the double header split the Seawolves stand at 7-2 overall and 3-1 in YSCC play.  The Seawolves take the diamond Sunday Sept 21 for another double header against the visiting Saints.
