Seawolves Get Redemption

Auburn - After taking a beating in last nights' contest against the Wolverines of Bridgton Academy, the Seawolves got redemption in their double header against the Mustangs of Central Maine Community College, winning by a spread of 14-0 in game one and 20-5 in game two.

Seawolves' pitcher Timothy Andersen (Beverly, MA) pitched a five inning shutout in game one with seven strikeouts  as the team cruised to a 14-0 victory. On offense the bats were hot as the Seawolves racked up 12 hits. Offensive leaders included catcher Dylan Farrell-Reny (South Portland, ME) who had three hits and two RBIs and first baseman Sean Adams (Lebanon, ME) who got on base on four occasions and scored four runs. Teammate Kyle Bussiere (Lewiston, ME) drilled a homerun in the fourth inning to chalk up his second hit of the of the game.

The Seawolves went from hot to hotter in game two, this time recording 14 hits and an impressive five homeruns en route to a 20-5 final. Caleb Burpee (Kennebunk, ME) and Justin Ciszewski (Auburn, ME) hit back to back homeruns in the first inning and Ciszewski added another solo homer in the second. Also in the second inning, centerfielder Alex Brown (Weymouth, MA) hit a base clearing bomb to put four runs on the scoreboard for SMCC. Another noteworthy performance came from shortstop Phillip Langley (Shawnee, OK) who contributed the fifth homer, a two run homerun, to go along with the four runs he scored. 

These two victories improve the Seawolves record to 9-4 while going 5-2 in conference play. They will be back in action at home against the club team from the University of New Hampshire on Friday September 26th at 4:30pm.
