Pitching dominates as NHTI pulls the upset over SMCC

South Portland The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) Seawolves baseball team played host to the 2015 Yankee Small College Conference tournament.  The #2 rank Seawolves took on #3 rank NHTI lynx from Concord, NH in the first semi-final game of the day.  NHTI pitcher Tyler Thorgerson completed a seven inning, six hit performance to pick up a 2-1 win and advance to the YSCC championships game.

The Seawolves got an impressive performance on the mound from freshman Brian Bellows (Waterville ME) who went 5.1 innings on the day giving up six hits but was not enough to catch Thorgerson.

The Seawolves were paced on the offensive side by sophomore Justin Ciszewski (Auburn, ME) who finished the day with two hits.  The Seawolves offense generated six hits but left 8 base runners stranded.

SMCC concludes the 2015 season with a 16-14 overall record while going 9-7 in YSCC play.
