Auburn -  Yesterday the Seawolves traveled to Auburn to square off against the Mustangs for a YSCC double header. SMCC took a commanding 20-1 victory in game one but the Mustangs fought hard in game two, keeping it close but eventually falling to the Seawolves 3-2.

The Seawolves broke out an early 3-0 lead in game one off homeruns by first baseman Kyle Reichert (Portland, ME) and teammate Caleb Burpee (Kennebunk, ME). The Seawolves offense continued to roll as they rattled off 20 runs including two homeruns and six RBI's from Richert, a 3-3 effort at the plate from Burpee and homeruns by Cam Brochu (Lewiston, ME) and Caleb Chambers (Lebanon, ME). Ben Johnson (Cambridge, MA) led the Seawolves from the mound, picking up eight strikeouts in four innings to get the win.

In game two newcomer Amos Herrin (Wilton, ME) threw a complete game, giving up just three hits and two runs, while striking out 14. The Seawolves scored two off back to back homeruns from Reichert and third baseman Shawn Murphy (Poland, ME), tying the game at two runs apiece. Brochu came up with an RBI double in the top of the seventh to give the Seawolves the lead and eventual victory.

This pair of victories improves the Seawolves overall record to 3-3-1, 3-3 in the YSCC. They will be back in action over the weekend with a double header on the road at NHTI on Sunday at 11 and 1pm.
