Seawolves Pull Out Two Close Ones at NHTI

Concord - Seawolves' veteran pitcher Nate Boyle (Windham, ME) picked up two wins in the baseball team's double header against NHTI this afternoon. Boyle entered game one in the eleventh inning, struck out two batters and allowed no runs to help the Seawolves grab the 6-5 victory. In game two Boyle pitched six of the seven innings with four strikeouts and eight hits to lead SMCC to a 4-3 triumph.

The Seawolves' bullpen had a solid performance in the opener. The trio of Brandon Wambolt (Sanford, ME), Ben Johnson (Cambridge, MA) and Amos Herrin (Wilton, ME) pitched through the first ten innings, giving up five runs. The offense was led by infielder Cosmo Romano (South Portland, ME) who was 4-6 at the plate with a double and three RBIs. Other noteworthy offensive performances came from Joe Apon (Portland, ME) who went 3-5 with a double and Shawn Murphy (Poland, ME) who went 3-6 and had a two RBI double. 

Game two saw a different group of offensive leaders, this time Cam Brochu (Manchester, ME) had an impressive 3-4 performance that included a two run homer in the first inning. Infielder Sean Adams (Lebanon, ME) managed two hits and an RBI while Edgar Montan (Dominican Republic) went 2-4 with a run and an RBI. Kyle Parmley (South Berwick, ME) picked up the save this afternoon  when he threw a scoreless seventh inning. 

The Seawolves have now improved to 5-3-1 and won't be back in action until Saturday when they travel back to NHTI for the YSCC fall tournament. Game time are TBD.
