South Portland - This afternoon the Seawolves fell behind early, 5-1 after two innings, and couldn't get anything rolling as they fell to Northern Essex Community College 15-3. 

Trailing 5-0 in the bottom of the second, Tim Rodrigues (Barnstable, MA) put the Seawolves on the scoreboard when he scored off a NECC error. SM gave up three runs in the second, two unearned, to extend the NECC lead to seven. Seawolves' third baseman Shawn Murphy (Poland, ME) doubled to bring Cam Brochu (Manchester, ME) across the plate and close the gap to 8-2. A grand slam by the Knights in the fourth helped solidify the game for Northern Essex as they cruised to the 15-3 win in five innings. 

Today's loss brings the Seawolves to 9-14 overall. They will take the field again on Friday on the road at the Community College of Rhode Island for a 3pm and 5pm double header.
