Saints Shut Out Seawolves

South Portland - Yesterday afternoon the Seawolves baseball team battled against YSCC foe College of St. Joseph's (VT). The Saints were able to muster offense in just two innings but CSJ pitcher Nick Birch pitched a complete game shutout to come away with a 12-0 win over the Seawolves. 

The Saints rattled off five runs in the second inning but Seawolves' pitcher Caleb Chambers (Lebanon, ME) threw four consecutive scoreless innnings to keep the game within reach for SMCC. A strong 7th inning by the Saints solidified the 12-0 victory. 

The two hits from the Seawolves came from third baseman Shawn Murphy (Poland, ME) and Juan Espinosa (Spring Hill, FL). 

With this loss the Seawolves slip to 11-16 overall. The will meet with the Saints again this afternoon in double header action that start at 12pm.
