South Portland - This afternoon the Bulldogs of Dean College put up seven runs in the sixth inning to help solidify their 15-2 victory over the Seawolves. 

The Seawolves struck first when Caleb Chambers (Lebanon, ME) singled and Dean walked three consecutive batters to put SM on top 1-0. The Bulldogs fired back with two runs of their own in the second and two more in the third to take a 4-1 lead. A scoreless fourth, followed by a Joe Apon (Portland, ME) run on a Dean error in the fifth closed the gap to just two runs entering the sixth.

In the sixth inning the Bulldogs managed to find gaps all over the field, accumulating six hits, three of those doubles, and seven runs to pull away from the Seawolves 11-2. Despite their best efforts SM was unable to get the bats going again, falling to Dean 15-2 in eight innings.

This afternoon wrapped up the Seawolves regular season at 18-21 overall, 11-6 in conference play. They will compete in YSCC postseason play on Saturday at home at 2pm against the winner of the NHTI vs Central Maine CC game that is scheduled for 12pm.
