SMCC Baseball Starts New Tradition

SMCC Baseball Starts New Tradition

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine— The Southern Maine Community College athletics department and baseball team held its first annual baseball alumni game on Sunday, Oct. 16.

A full roster of SeaWolves alumni suited up to play against this year’s baseball team and attended the post-game reception at Easy Day Bowling. The event raised more than 400 dollars to help fund the 2016-17 baseball team’s travel to Virginia for a spring break tournament.

Head Baseball Coach Jordan Yanni commented, “It was great to see a new tradition start with SMCC baseball. Meeting the program’s alumni and for them to meet the current players gave this year’s team a feeling of pride. I’m excited to keep the event going year after year and thankful for all of the support from those who attended.”
