Mustangs Win YSCC Invitational

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine— The Southern Maine Community College baseball team suffered a 2-0 defeat to the Mustangs of Central Maine Community College (CMCC) on Saturday, Oct. 8 in the championship game of the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) Fall Invitational Tournament.

Sophomore Kyle Parmley (Eliot, Maine) started on the mound for the SeaWolves in this final game of the fall season. Parmley threw a complete game (nine innings) and allowed just two earned runs over nine hits. He pitched eight scoreless frames and struck out six.

Sophomore Nathaniel Cyr (Freeport, Maine) delivered two hits, one a double for the SeaWolves. Sophomore Caleb Chambers (Lebanon, Maine) also notched an extra-base hit, but the home team was unable to push a run across against the Mustang's Kyle Moore.

SMCC concludes its fall season 3-2-1 in conference play and 5-3-1 overall.
