Baseball Tagged For 11 Runs in Rhode Island

WARWICK, R.I.— The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) baseball team fell to the Knights from the Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI) 11-0 in six innings on Friday, Mar. 30.

Timothy Greenlaw (Windham, Maine), Dylan Francoeur (Westbrook, Maine), and Evan Laveroni (Sandown, N.H.) stood for all of SMCC’s three hits. The NJCAA Div. II opponent in the opposite dugout struck for 15 hits and five walks.

CCRI clung to a 2-0 lead through four innings until the Knights posted four in the five and six more in the bottom half of the sixth.

Junior Amos Herrin (Wilton, Maine) made the start on the hill for the SeaWolves throwing five complete innings before junior Sean Adams (Lebanon, Maine) came on in a two-out relief appearance.

The SeaWolves who sport a 14-10 record overall, will do battle with Central Maine Community College in a nine-inning non-conference contest on Saturday, Mar. 31 at 12 p.m.
