SeaWolves Baseball Secures YSCC #1 In Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, N.H.— The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) baseball team swept the Herons from Great Bay Community College in three-game Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) series on the road Friday, Apr. 20- Saturday, Apr. 21.

SMCC took care of business 8-2 in a nine-inning contest on Friday, Apr. 20 in which first-year Devin Sawyer (Ayer, Mass.) threw a complete-game one-hitter to earn his third win of the season.

On day two, Coach Jordan Yanni went with the left-hander James Parisi (Rockport, Mass.) in the first of the double dip. Parisi went the distance to throw a no-hitter. He added six strikeouts cruise to his fifth win of his rookie campaign, 7-0.

Junior Nathanial Cyr (Freeport, Maine) started on the hill in the second game and he too gave the SeaWolves a complete-game performance to help lift his team to a 6-5 victory.

The SeaWolves stand 11 games above .500 at 23-12 overall and win the YSCC regular season sporting an undefeated 7-0 record—still to play Central Maine Community College twice.
