MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) baseball team dropped its spring training finale to the Chaparrals from the College of DuPage 13-2 in five innings, Thursday, Mar. 12.

The SeaWolves jumped ahead 1-0 in the first frame, but surrendered five runs in the second. DuPage would post another five-spot in the fourth inning to stem a larger margin—one SMCC could not recover before the run-rule took effect.

The SeaWolves totaled four hits with RBIs coming from first-years Juan Subervi (Lynn, Mass.) and Cameren Cousins (Wells, Maine). First-year John-Bruce Lauter (Appomattox, Va.) was tagged with the loss allowing five runs over five hits and two walks—rookies Nick Rinaldi (Tampa, Fl.) and Jake Sullivan (Weymouth, Mass.) made relief appearances.

SMCC finished its road trip 2-6 and combines the fall record to sport a 13-7 mark overall.
