SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) baseball team completed the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) series sweep of Quincy College in a 9-inning affair on Tuesday, Apr. 23.

Quincy struck first pushing a run across on a sacrifice fly in the first inning. SMCC responded in the second and scored in five consecutive innings to finish the game.

Quincy's lead-off man Jonathan St. Ange was productive at the plate, going 3-5 with two RBIs, while Anthony Ferriera also contributed with two hits and two runs scored. However, the Quincy pitching staff couldn't manage to slow the SMCC offense as the game finished 9-5.

First-year Peter Keblinsky (Ellsworth, Maine), sophomore Ryan Thurber (South Portland, Maine) and junior Liam Cooledge (Westbrook, Maine) all logged multi-hit games and combined for five runs scored. First-year Adam Rowland (Alberta, Canada) delivered two RBIs.

SMCC starter Bennett Smith (Falmouth, Maine) earned the win, giving up five runs in seven innings of work, while sophomore co-captain Dante Tocci (Portland, Maine) secured the save with two scoreless innings of relief.

SMCC climbs to 23-10 overall, 8-3 YSCC.

The Seawolves complete their conference schedule when they host the Mustangs from Central Maine Community College on Thursday, Apr. 25. First pitch in South Portland is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
