SOUTH PORTLAND, ME - The 2010-2011 Seawolves Basketball season kicked off with a Fan Night in the HUB Athletic Center gymnasium. Both the men’s and women’s basketball teams came out to player introductions followed by a variety of fan interactions which included a player/fan three point shoot out and player/fan dizzy bat race. Northeast DJ’s Dan Debruin was on hand to keep the fans entertained as emcee of the night while pumping out music throughout the contests.
After the fan interaction games, the men’s team competed in a dunk contest. Dunk contestants included Matt Findlay, Jose Nouchontavong, Ryan Chaney, and Paul Holland. After two rounds of competition and fan voting, Findlay and Holland advanced to the finals where Holland won the crowd support with his one minute of variety dunks.
The Seawolves kicked of the season with participating in the annual Can-Am tournament. The men finished 2-0 on the tournament while the women earned a split to finish 1-1. Both teams take to action Thursday night Nov 4th in the season home opener against Nashua C.C. Women begin at 6pm and the men to follow at 8pm.
