SOUTH PORTLAND, ME - Southern Maine Community College Men’s Basketball Coach Matt Richards announced the teams start date for the upcoming season.  The team will begin preseason practice on Friday, October 1 with a fitness/conditioning assessment.  The team has 22 players competing for a spot on the 2010-2011 Seawolves roster. 

“I’m excited to see where we stand on the first day, stated Richards.  Most of the returning guys did a nice job in the off season, so I expect to have a smooth transition into our preseason.” 

The Seawolves return seven players from last year’s squad that qualified for the Yankee Small College Conference post season.  The team ended up losing in the semi-finals.
