The Southern Maine Community College men’s basketball team put forth a solid team effort to beat Nova Scotia by 48 points. The young Seawolves team shot 48% from the field and 70% from the line while only committing 11 turnovers. Senior Josh Mackie (South Portland, ME) led the charge with 23 points including 7 three pointers. Freshmen Emmanuel Donalson (East Orange, NJ) and Jake Loveridge (Chertsey, UK) contributed 18 and 10 respectively. Freshman Shon Powell (Monroe, LA) led the team in assists with 7 while junior guard Dan Foster (South Portland, ME) led the team with six boards.
The Seawolves sit at 1-1 on the season. They host the USCAA Tip-off Classic on Saturday and Sunday, November 5th and 6th. SMCC will face Unity College at 5:00 PM in Saturday’s opening game.
