Men’s Basketball Earns Win Over University of Maine-Augusta

The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's basketball team beat University of Maine-Augusta (UMA) this evening 89-82.  UMA opened up with a quick lead but the Seawolves wouldn't go down quietly. SMCC worked their way back into the game and took the lead for the first time with 12:30 remaining in the second half.  The Seawolves made several key stops on the defensive end and connected on the free throw line down the stretch to seal the victory.

The Seawolves' scoring attack was led by senior guard Josh Mackie (South Portland, ME) with 19 points.  Freshman Anderson Santana (South Boston, MA) contributed a double-double with 15 points and 12 boards.  Junior guard Dan Foster (South Portland, ME) also had a strong night, finishing with 17 points on 6 of 9 shooting.

With the win, the Seawolves move to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in Yankee Small College Conference play.  The men are in action again on Friday, November 18 at 7:30pm when they host conference foe Hampshire College.
