The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's basketball team lost a close battle on the road to Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) foe University of Maine-Machias this evening 76-74. It was a back-and-forth battle all game long, but the Seawolves weren't able to finish down the stretch.
SMCC was led by senior point guard Joe Jardine (Greenville, ME) who contributed a solid performance including 10 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Senior Josh Mackie (South Portland, ME) had a team-high 16 points followed by Anderson Santana (South Boston, MA) and Dan Foster (South Portland, ME) who each chipped in 11.
The Clippers of Machias were led by Zach Armstrong and Jeremy Tolbert who both put up 21 points.
SMCC moves to 4-4 overall and 2-2 in YSCC play. The Seawolves are on the road again this Thursday, December 1st when they take on NHTI at 8:00pm.
