SMCC vs. CMCC Rivalry Game Goes Down to the Wire

In a night of milestones, the Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) Seawolves hung tough against long-time conference rival Central Maine Community College (CMCC).  However, the Mustangs would prove too much as they pulled away with a 96-87 victory.

It was the 100th meeting between the two teams.  Before tip-off, SMCC led the all-time series 57-42.  The other milestone of the evening involved senior guard Josh Mackie (South Portland, ME).  Mackie became the 16th player in SMCC men's basketball history to score 1000 career points.

Mackie led all scorers with 28 points including eight three-pointers.  Freshman forward Anderson Santana (South Boston, MA) put up a double-double with 13 points and 16 rebounds while also contributing 5 assists and 2 blocks.

The Seawolves move to 5-8 overall and 2-6 in conference play.  The men close out the first semester schedule with a home game this Friday against Lakes Region Community College.
