Men's Basketball Earns Win Over John Abbott College

The Southern Maine Community College men's basketball team earned their first win of 2012 with a victory over John Abbott College (Montreal) 73-69.  It was a great team effort for 40 minutes as the Seawolves had three players score double digits and a lot of sparks off the bench.

The Seawolves controlled much of the first half and went into the break up by 10.  The Islanders fought back in the second to go up one point with six minutes remaining.  The Seawolves would regain their composure and step up the defensive intensity to seal the 73-69 victory.

The Seawolves were led by senior guard Josh Mackie (South Portland, ME) who led all scorers with 24 points including six three pointers.  Freshman guard Emmanuel Donalson (East Orange, NJ) contributed 16 points and Chance Baldino (Biddeford, ME) chipped in 10.

The Seawolves improve to 7-9 overall with the non-conference win.  They are back in action on Wednesday, January 11th when they travel to Holyoke Community College for a 6:00 PM game.
