Bridgton, ME. The Seawolves of Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) took down the Wolverines of Bridgton Academy this evening, 77-70. SMCC was down 37-30 at halftime after shooting 38% from the field and committing 12 turnovers. The Seawolves didn't waste time turning things around in the second half. In the second 20 minutes, the Seawolves shot 51% from the floor including 60% behind the three-point line and committed only 5 turnovers.
Leading the charge in the second half was freshman Mike Harmon (Portland, ME). Harmon ended the game with 11 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals and took 1 charge. Sophomore Jose Nouchanthavong (Westbrook, ME) led the Seawolves with 14 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 blocks and 1 steal, while freshmen Jon Amabile (Portland, ME) contributed 13 points. Leading the team in rebounds was freshman Tyheem Simon (Queens, NY) with 7 boards including 6 offensive rebounds to go along with 8 points.
The Seawolves improve to 5-1 overall and remain 1-0 in conference play. They host conference opponent Northern Maine Community College this Saturday, November 10th in the HUB Gymnasium. Game time is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
