Machias, ME. The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's basketball team won it's last game of the fall semester beating Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) opponent University Maine of Machias (UMM) by a score of 75-70. It was close throughout with the Seawolves up 36-35 at half time. The Seawolves were up 3 with 15 seconds left when Mike Harmon (Portland, ME) hit 2 big free throws to seal the deal and put them up 5.
The Seawolves were led by 3 of their starters. Sophomore guard Emmanuel Donalson (East Orange, NJ) had 20 points and 2 rebounds. Freshman guard Jon Amabile (Portland, ME) had 15 points, 3 assists and 3 rebounds and sophomore point guard Jose Nouchanthavong (Westbrook, ME) chipped in 9 points, 5 steals, 3 assists and 2 rebounds.
SMCC finishes the semester 13-3 overall and 10-1 in conference play. The Seawolves will take a break for the holidays and return in action at home on January 5th where they take on John Abbott College (JAC). Game time is scheduled for 8:00PM.
