Seawolves Lose First Half Lead to Fall to Rival CMCC

South Portland, ME. The Southern Maine Community College men's basketball team lost a close battle to the visiting rival Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) opponent the Mustangs of Central Maine Community College (CMCC) by a score of 73-65. The Seawolves out scored CMCC 34-28 in the first half but fell short as they were out scored 45-31 in the second half.

To lead the Seawolves in a losing effort was freshman guard Jon Amabile (Portland, ME) who led all scores with 21 points and had 5 assists. Sophomore guard Emmanuel Donalson (East Orange, NJ) was able to contribute 10 points and 6 rebounds while sophomore point guard Jose Nouchanthavong (Westbrook, ME) chipped in 9 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists.

SMCC drops to 18-10 overall and 11-5 in conference play. The Seawolves have a conference game next Tuesday February 12th as they host Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) opponent University of Maine Augusta (UMA). Game is scheduled to start at 8:00PM and it will be streamed live on our website http://client.stretchinternet.com/client/smcc.portal.
