DeRosby Nets 20 to Lead Seawolves Past Unity

South Portland - In last night's men's basketball action the Seawolves shot 52% from the floor and outrebounded the Rams of Unity College 56-35, as they picked up a 103-55 conference victory.

The Rams kept the game close in the opening ten minutes thanks to three made three pointers and a layup that knotted the game at 13-13, from shooting guard Sean Tocci. The Seawolves responded with a 14-0 run, sparked by a shot from downtown by Chase Soares (Falmouth, MA) and capped off by five consecutive points from point guard Jordan DeRosby (Waterville, ME). The Seawolves were able to extend the lead to 27 points, 57-30, before Unity would make another big push. The Rams knocked down three shots from beyond the arc, and outscored the Seawolves 14-3 over a three minute span in the early stages of the second half, slashing the lead to 60-44. Again the Seawolves had the answer, holding the Rams to just 11 points in the final 14:46 while putting up 43 points on offense and picking up the 103-55 triumph.

DeRosby led the Seawolves with a game high 20 points to go along with seven rebounds and four steals. Forward Tyheem Simon (Queens, NY) pitched in with 14 points while Soares and shooting guard Emanuel Perry (Barnstable, MA) chipped in with 13 and 12 respectively.

The Seawolves (16-1, 12-0 YSCC) will hit the road this weekend to play again the University of Maine - Presque Isle on Saturday at 2pm.
