Bulldogs Hand Seawolves First Loss of Second Semester

Bulldogs Hand Seawolves First Loss of Second Semester

South Portland - A dismal Seawolves' shooting effort in the first half, 8% from the three point line and 26% from the floor, would be the team's demise against a very talented Dean College team in last nights men's basketball action. The Seawolves were chasing a fourteen point lead at the break so despite outscoring the Bulldogs in second half action, they could not overcome the first half deficit as they fell to the Bulldogs, 82-70.

In the second half the Seawolves outscored the Bulldogs, 41-39, due to the efforts of Atencio Martin (Kittery, ME) and Alexander Hartford (Naples, ME) who combined for 16 points and nine rebounds in latter part of the game. The Seawolves bench also outscored the Dean bench 19-2 in the second.

For the game the Seawolves outrebounded the Bulldogs 54-45. Hartford grabbed 10 of those to go along with his team 16 points. Martin also netted 16 points and grabbed five rebounds. Tyheem Simon (Queens, NY) added 10 points for the Seawolves and point guard Jordan DeRosby (Waterville, ME) had seven points, eight rebounds and four assists.

Devin Stallings had a game high 20 points and eight rebounds for the Bulldogs.

The Seawolves (17-2, 12-0 YSCC) will battle NHTI at home on Thursday night at 6pm.
