SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's basketball team kept pace in the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) standings with a 82-69 win over the Moose from the University of Maine at Augusta on Wednesday, Jan. 26.

The SeaWolves put together equal performances of 41 points in both halves and shot 50.7 percent from the field.

Captains Ian Regan (Old Orchard Beach, Maine) and Cameren Cousins (Wells, Maine) combined for half of SMCC's point total—Cousins added 11 rebounds and three blocks to an impressive stat line. Junior captain DeSean Cromwell (Biddeford, Maine) continued his hot streak with 17 points on an efficient 6-9 shooting.

Trevor Beals led UMA with 14 points in 27 minutes on the floor.

SMCC stands the number two team and creates separation from the rest with a 9-1 YSCC record, 12-4 overall. UMA sits 3-2 in conference play and 5-14 on the year.

The SeaWolves seek revenge from a December loss against the top-seeded NHTI Lynx, this time in Concord, N.H. on Wednesday, Feb. 2. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
