Men’s Soccer Finishes Regular Season With Victory Over Unity College

The Men’s Soccer team continues to control the number one spot in the Yankee Small College Conference after beating Unity College 2-1.  Freshman Wadhah Al-Shammari (Portland, ME) scored off an assist from sophomore Peter Dore (Westbrook, ME) in the first half.  The Seawolves let Unity hang around longer than head coach Brian Dougher preferred with the score tied 1-1.  Senior Nick Link (South Portland, ME) finally found junior Blais Whitney (Cornish, ME) for the winning goal in the eighty-second minute of play.

Freshman goalkeeper Corey Grigas (Hardwick, MA) played seventy-two minutes and recorded five saves and no goals allowed.

The Seawolves move to 10-0-1 in conference play and 10-2-1 overall.  As the top-seeded team in the East Division, they earn a bye for the first round of play-offs.  The team automatically advances to the final four championship tournament being hosted by NHTI beginning October 21st.
